Sites that use the ParkedIn app
At a small number of locations, charging at a Hypercharge station is paid for through a third-party app rather than the Hypercharge app. The most common is ParkedIn, operated by Precise ParkLink.
The stations are still Hypercharge hardware — only the payment path is different.
How to tell you’re at one of these sites
Section titled “How to tell you’re at one of these sites”You’ll usually see one of the following:
- The Hypercharge app displays a message telling you to use ParkedIn or another third-party app for this station
- The station won’t start and reports that you’re not authorized, or shows an authentication error
- The station appears as private in the Hypercharge app, or doesn’t appear at all
- The QR code on the station shows ParkedIn branding or opens the ParkedIn app rather than Hypercharge
How to charge at a ParkedIn site
Section titled “How to charge at a ParkedIn site”1. Scan the QR code on the charging station
You don’t need to install anything. Scanning the station’s QR code opens ParkedIn in your mobile browser.
2. Enter your email address and payment details
ParkedIn pre-authorises your card before charging begins.
3. Plug in
Charging starts automatically once payment is authorised.
4. Unplug when you’re finished
The amount owed is shown at the end of the session and charged to the card you provided.
Parking and charging are billed separately
Section titled “Parking and charging are billed separately”At ParkedIn sites, your parking and your charging are two separate transactions. Paying for one does not cover the other.
Your Hypercharge balance can’t be used
Section titled “Your Hypercharge balance can’t be used”Funds in your Hypercharge account can’t be spent at a site that bills through ParkedIn. The two accounts are entirely separate.
If you added funds to your Hypercharge account expecting to use them at one of these sites, you can request a refund of your remaining balance — see Refund your Hypercharge account balance.
Getting help at a ParkedIn site
Section titled “Getting help at a ParkedIn site”For anything to do with a ParkedIn account, app issue, payment, session or refund, contact ParkedIn — Hypercharge has no visibility on the ParkedIn app itself, your account information, or any transactions made through ParkedIn.
ParkedIn publishes its own EV charging help at customersupport.parkedin.com.
Contact support@hypercharge.com if the charging station itself appears to be faulty, or if you need a refund of a Hypercharge account balance.
Other third-party apps
Section titled “Other third-party apps”ParkedIn isn’t the only one — some sites use other partner apps for the same purpose. The way to recognise them is the same: the Hypercharge app will point you to the right one, or the station’s QR code will open it. If you are uncertain, contact your property manager or Hypercharge Support.
