Find a station in the app

Search by station ID, not by location

Every Hypercharge station has an ID printed on the unit — usually a 4-digit number such as 5839, sometimes with a letter for a specific port, like 5117B.

Tap the search icon in the app and enter the station ID. This is the most reliable way to find a station, and it’s what to try first if browsing the map isn’t working.

Tip

Searching by building name or address is much less reliable than searching by station ID. Sites are often listed under a name that doesn’t match the address you’re standing at.

Scan the QR code instead

Most stations have a QR code printed on them, usually near the charging connector. Scanning it opens that exact station in the app, with no searching required.

If the station still doesn’t appear

A station that doesn’t show up in the app is usually one of the following.

It’s a private station

This is by far the most common reason. Many Hypercharge stations serve only the residents, staff or members of a particular building, and they don’t appear in the app for drivers who haven’t been granted access.

To get access, contact the building’s property manager, strata or front desk. They maintain the authorised list and can request that your account be added. Hypercharge support can’t add you on their behalf.

It’s a hidden station

Some stations are public but hidden — they don’t appear in the app or on the map unless you search for the exact station ID or scan the station’s QR code.

This is typical at semi-public sites, such as guest charging inside a gated parkade. Anyone who can physically reach the station can charge at it, but access to the area itself may be restricted by a gate or similar.

If you’re standing at a station that isn’t on the map, search the station ID or scan the QR code before assuming you can’t use it.

It isn’t in service yet

Stations that are still being installed or commissioned show as Under construction and aren’t available. See What station statuses mean.

It isn’t a Hypercharge station

Not every charger is on the Hypercharge network. Hypercharge stations carry Hypercharge branding and a station ID in the format above. If the unit has no Hypercharge branding and the ID doesn’t match anything in the app, it likely belongs to another network — check the branding on the unit and use that provider’s app.

Note

A common point of confusion is between Hypercharge, the charging network, and the Alpitronic “Hypercharger” line of DC fast chargers, which is a hardware product name used by other networks. Hypercharge does not currently operate any Alpitronic Hypercharger stations. If the station in front of you is marked “Hypercharger”, look for the operating network’s contact details printed on the charger instead.

Finding stations near you

You can also browse for stations around your current location in the app, which shows availability and the rate for each one. Bear in mind that private stations you don’t have access to won’t be listed.
