Get Started in Quantev

Start here to get up and running managing your EV charging stations with Quantev fast

Updated over a week ago

The initial setup for each Quantev account must be completed by Hypercharge. The account owner will receive an email when their account has been created, then can add other users.

If you have not received an email to create your account, contact [email protected].

Let's get you up and running in Quantev! This guide is meant to provide a quick overview to get started. For more detailed instructions, follow the links in each section below.

Create your account

  1. Follow the link in your welcome email

You should receive an email to the email address provided to Hypercharge to create your account. Follow the link in the email to access Quantev, and follow the prompts proceed with creating your account.

  2. Set your password

After following the link, you'll be prompted to enter a password to secure your account.

  3. Configure multi-factor authentication

Hypercharge requires that all site owner accounts are secured with multi-factor authentication in order to prevent unauthorized changes to your stations should you account information be compromised.

Follow the instructions on screen to configure your account with Google Authenticator. Note that many authentication apps that use one-time passcodes can be used in place of Google Authenticator if you prefer. Learn more.

  4. Log in to Quantev

If you are not redirected automatically, return to app.hypercharge.com/quantev to log in. You will be prompted to enter the current code from your authenticator app to log in.

See Creating a Quantev account for detailed instructions, or the Quantev Troubleshooting Guide if you are having trouble logging in.

Check your sites and stations

When you first log in to Quantev, you should confirm that you are able to see all of the sites and stations that you expect to be related to your account.

If you receive an error that your account is not associated with any sites, it is likely that your account has not been set up correctly. Contact [email protected] to have the issue corrected.

You should see all of your Sites listed when you select the "Sites" filter at the top of the Dashboard, Stations, or Sessions page.

Use the filters on the Stations page to select each site and confirm that the expected stations are visible in the Stations table below.

Note that you will need to toggle the "Commissioned only" slider off to see to see any stations which are still under construction and have not been commissioned.

Set your station fees

Typically, Hypercharge will set the initial fees for your stations based on discussions with you during the onboarding process. In that case, you should not need to complete this step unless you wish to make changes to the pre-configured rates.

There are two fees which may be applied to a charging session, the station fee and the driver fee.

The station fee is the fee applied to the charging station for general use, and applies to any session where the driver has not been granted access to the station with a special driver fee.

If the driver has been granted access to the station with a special fee, then the driver fee overrides the station fee and will be applied for the charging session. A driver may be granted access to a charging station without applying a special fee, in which case the station fee will be applied.

You can set the station fee for one or more stations using the "Manage stations" function on the Stations page and selecting the "Manage fees" option. More information on configuring fees is available in the article "Manage your charging stations".

If you wish to set a special driver fee for some or all of your users, see the section below on setting up driver groups, access control, and custom fees.

Set up driver groups, access control, and custom fees

Driver groups are the most convenient way to manage special access requirements, such as access to private stations and custom fees, which apply to multiple drivers or stations.

You can add driver groups from the "Drivers" page of Quantev.

  1. Use the "New Driver Group" option to create a new group.

  2. Give the group a descriptive name to help you remember the purpose of the group.

  3. Populate the default fees for Level 2 and Level 3 stations.

  4. Add the email addresses of the drivers you wish to add to the group.

  5. Select the stations that you wish to apply the group to. All members of the group will be granted access to the specified stations with the relevant default fee for the group (depending on whether the station is Level 2 or Level 3).

  6. Preview and confirm the bulk command to update the stations.

Check out the article "Manage drivers and driver groups" for more details.

Monitor your stations

The main views to monitor the current status of your stations are the Dashboard, Stations, and Sessions pages. Each of these pages provides different insights into your stations' usage:

  • The Dashboard provides a high level view across one or many stations, summarizing the stations use over a specified timeframe

  • The Stations page provides a detailed view of each of your charging stations, including its current status and dozens of data points which can be arranged in the table. You can also view the outage history and any alerts reported from your stations on this page.

  • The Sessions table provides a detailed view of each EV charging session which has occurred at one of your charging stations, including it's status and key details such as cost, energy consumption, and duration

Head to the links above for more details about each of these pages.

View statements and reports

There are two primary types of reporting available in Quantev.

Statements

Statements are fixed-term reports which show the performance and revenue generated by your EV charging stations each month. These can be viewed for all sites or on a per-site basis on the "Statements" page in Quantev.

Custom Reporting

Quantev is designed so that the tables for each type of data (Sites, Stations, Drivers, etc.) are customizable and exportable. This makes it easy to organize data to export it for analysis in other tools.

There are several features in Quantev designed to make it easy to slice your data and report only the fields you need.

Saved Filters

When you filter stations using the filters at the top of each page, you have the option to save the filters you have applied as a named saved filter. Selecting the saved filter in the future will instantly apply the filters you have saved. Learn more.

Add/Remove Columns
Each table in Quantev can be customized by adding, removing, and reordering the columns which are displayed. Click the "gear" icon at the upper right of the table to view column options. Learn more.

Saved Column Sets

Use the saved column sets feature in the Choose Columns window for any table by selecting the "gear" icon at the top right. Saving a column set allows you to quickly switch between different table layouts for different purposes. For example, you might have "Basic Information", "Revenue", "Utilization", and "Load Sharing" column sets to quickly switch between different views to display in the table.

Export to CSV

Every table in Quantev can be exported to CSV using the download button in the upper right of the table.

Currently, Quantev does not offer a dedicated custom reporting and dashboards function, though we do plan to in the future.

We are working to make aggregation and export of your data for analysis in your preferred tool as simple as possible, both through our dashboard and API.

If you have feedback about how our dashboard and reporting features can be improved, please share it with us at [email protected]
