Manage your charging stations

Use Quantev to manage the settings of your charging session, such as rates and access control.

Updated over 6 months ago

Quantev provides a number of commands to manage and configure your charging stations. Commands can be applied to one or more stations at once, and several commands can be combined and sent at once to make it easy to quickly apply changes across your stations.

Select stations for your command

To send commands to your stations, navigate to the Stations page.

You can select the stations you wish to apply your command to using the filters at the top of the Stations page, then select the Manage Stations option to set up a command to be sent to those stations.

Of, if you prefer, you can select Manage Stations, then use the "Choose stations" options to select the stations for the command.

Configure your command options

The first step of the command flow is to choose the command you wish to send. The available commands are listed. Review the command reference below for a detailed description of how to use each command.

Command Reference

Set access control

Use the Set access control command to add and remove individual drivers from your charging stations.

Action: Choose whether to add or remove the drivers entered in the Customers field.

Customers: The names or email addresses of the drivers to be added or removed.

Charging fee for level 2 stations: The custom fee that will be applied for the specified driver(s) on the assigned level 2 charging stations.

Charging fee for level 3 stations: The custom fee that will be applied for the specified driver(s) on the assigned level 2 charging stations.

Set charging fee

Use the Set charging fee command to assign a fee structure to the selected stations.

Use the dropdown to select the desired fee structure. Once you have selected a fee structure, you can preview the pricing components such as charging fee, occupancy fee, and idle fees below the dropdown.
โ€‹
If you have not created the desired fee structure, use the "New Fee" option. For more information on creating and managing fee structures, see Configure fees for your charging stations.

Set message to customers

The Set message to customers command allows you to set a message for your charging stations to be displayed to drivers when they view the station in the app. This can be useful to provide special instructions to drivers, or to notify drivers about outages.

โ€‹Message: Enter the message to be displayed to the customer here. The maximum allowed length is 500 characters. Sending a command with this field blank will remove any message currently set for the selected stations.

Expiry Date: Use the expiry date field to set a date when the message should be automatically removed from the station. This is a good way to remove messages about scheduled maintenance or promotions with a fixed end date. If no date is provided, the message will be applied indefinitely until it is removed by sending a blank message value to the station.

Set priority status

Change the status of your station(s) to Out of Service to help make it clear to drivers that the stations are unavailable when they view it in the Hypercharge app, and to prevent drivers from starting sessions on stations which are experiencing issues.

The priority status can be set to either of 2 values as shown above:

Automatic - The station will rely on the OCPP status provided by the charger itself to determine it's status.

Out of Service - The station is unavailable for use due to an issue or because it is temporarily inaccessible.

Set privacy

Use the Set privacy command to set whether stations are available to all Hypercharge users or only the users specified on the station's access list.

If this value is set to Yes, the station will not be available to users who have not been granted access through the Set access control or driver groups features.

If the value is set to No, all Hypercharge users can charge at the station for the public station fee.

Set visibility

Station visibility determines whether a charging station appears for users in the Hypercharge app. If the station is not set to visible, it is not possible to start sessions via the app, and an RFID card is required to charge.

If the value is set to Yes, the station is visible to users who have access to it in the Hypercharge app. Users who do not have access will not see the station.

If the value is set to No, the station will not be visible to users in the Hypercharge app.

Preview your command

Once you have chosen a command and selected the options you wish to apply, select Preview to display a summary of the changes to be executed.

Review the actions to be performed and confirm that the correct stations are selected for the command.

Once you are satisfied that the command is correct, type the number of stations indicated in the yellow box to confirm the number of stations to be modified. This is an extra step to help ensure that you do not make accidental changes to your stations.

Click "Apply changes" to send a command to modify the stations.

Track the status of your command in the management history

Commands can take up to 7 seconds per station to run. When a command is executed, an entry is created in the management history. You will automatically be taken to the management history when you run a command, or you can access it using the History button at the top of the Stations page.

The management history shows an entry for each command that has been sent, indicating the current status of the command, the actions performed, and the user who sent the command. You will see the status "Queued" or "Running" for commands which are in progress, and "Success" or "Failed" for commands that have completed.
